The Dell XPS 16 DA16260 combines a large 16-inch display with a remarkably slim and portable chassis, making it well suited to demanding productivity, content creation and everyday professional use. Measuring just 14.62mm thin and weighing from approximately 3.65lb (1.66kg), it is Dell's thinnest 16-inch XPS laptop, offering substantial screen space without the dimensions normally associated with a larger notebook. Its chassis uses CNC-machined aluminium, Gorilla Glass 3 and a unibody construction with reinforced walls, providing a rigid and durable platform while maintaining a clean, minimalist appearance. The glass palm rest and reduced external parting lines complement the tonal finish, while the spill-resistant construction and extensive durability testing help the XPS 16 cope with the demands of mobile working. Dell states that the system has undergone pressure testing up to 20kg, drop testing from up to 18 inches (45.7cm) and up to 1,200 micro-drop tests, making it suitable for regular transport between home, office and travel environments.
Performance is provided by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, with configurations available with processors up to the Core Ultra X9, delivering a combination of CPU performance and integrated AI acceleration for demanding workloads. The XPS 16 can briefly increase processor power to up to 65W when additional performance is required, while its thermal system incorporates Dell's largest and thinnest fans to improve airflow and maintain quieter, cooler operation. Graphics are handled by Intel Arc graphics with up to 12 Xe cores, providing a significant improvement over the previous generation and supporting accelerated video editing, content creation, streaming and other graphics-intensive applications without necessarily requiring a discrete GPU. Integrated Intel XeSS 2 technology can also improve gaming performance where supported, while the Core Ultra platform provides an NPU for on-device AI workloads and features such as enhanced video-call effects, lighting correction and noise reduction. Long working sessions are supported by a high-energy-density battery and power-efficient display technology, with Dell quoting up to 31 hours of streaming battery life for selected 2K LCD configurations. The cooling, power management and efficient processor architecture allow the XPS 16 to deliver substantial performance in a chassis that remains comparatively thin and portable.
At the centre of the Dell XPS 16 DA16260 is a virtually edge-to-edge 16-inch display available in different panel configurations to suit productivity and creative requirements. The 2K LCD option prioritises battery efficiency and mobility, incorporating a variable refresh rate capable of reducing to 1Hz to conserve power, while Dell quotes up to 31 hours of streaming battery life with this configuration. For users prioritising image quality, the optional 3.2K OLED display provides higher resolution, vivid colour reproduction and pixel-level detail, with Dell quoting up to 17 hours of streaming battery life. Both options provide a spacious canvas for multitasking, creative applications and media consumption, with Eyesafe technology incorporated to help reduce blue-light exposure while maintaining colour quality. Audio is delivered through a concealed 10W quad-speaker system, producing a fuller sound output without conventional visible speaker grilles, while the integrated 8MP camera sensor supports sharp video capture with 1080p video resolution for conferencing and calls. Additional business-focused features include Dell SafeBIOS, SafeID and TPM-based security, while EPEAT Gold registration and ENERGY STAR certification reflect the system's efficiency and sustainability credentials.
