Designed for demanding enterprise and data centre environments, the Dell PowerEdge R7625 Rack Server is a powerful and highly configurable 16th Generation 2U dual-socket AMD server combining high core-count processing, DDR5 memory, flexible enterprise storage and PCIe Gen5 expansion. Available from EuroPC as a configure-your-own barebone server, this R7625 configuration features 8 × 2.5-inch Hot-Plug SAS/SATA/NVMe drive bays, making it ideally suited to virtualisation, high-performance computing (HPC), databases, analytics, private cloud and other business-critical workloads.
Powered by 4th Generation AMD EPYC 9004 Series processors, the Dell PowerEdge R7625 supports up to two AMD EPYC CPUs using the SP5 socket platform. Its dual-socket architecture provides exceptional multi-core processing capability and scalability for demanding enterprise environments, including large virtual machine deployments, databases, compute-intensive applications and high-performance infrastructure.
This particular EuroPC configuration features a flexible 8 × 2.5-inch Hot-Plug Universal drive chassis supporting compatible SAS, SATA and NVMe storage. The Universal backplane allows organisations to balance storage capacity, performance, latency and cost within the same platform, making the R7625 well suited to mixed-storage environments and workloads requiring both high-capacity and high-performance storage options.
Support for high-speed NVMe storage enables exceptionally low-latency and high-throughput configurations for demanding applications such as transactional databases, analytics, virtualisation clusters and data-intensive enterprise workloads. SAS and SATA compatibility also provides flexible options for enterprise HDD and SSD storage where capacity, resilience and cost efficiency are important.
Flexible storage controller options allow the PowerEdge R7625 to be configured around different performance and redundancy requirements. Compatible Dell PERC RAID controllers and HBA solutions can be selected to manage SAS, SATA and NVMe storage, giving organisations the flexibility to build a storage architecture suited to their preferred workload, RAID strategy and performance requirements.
With 24 DDR5 RDIMM slots supporting ECC memory and platform memory speeds of up to 4800 MT/s, the PowerEdge R7625 provides substantial memory bandwidth and expansion capacity for demanding enterprise applications. This makes the server particularly well suited to virtual machines, databases, analytics, cloud applications and memory-intensive business systems.
Extensive PCIe Gen5 expansion provides high-bandwidth connectivity for enterprise network adapters, storage controllers, accelerators and other compatible expansion hardware. This configuration uses RCONFIG4, providing a flexible mix of full-height, low-profile and double-width PCIe expansion capability for demanding data centre deployments.
Network connectivity can be expanded through the server's OCP 3.0 slot and PCIe networking options, while onboard Gigabit Ethernet provides additional management and connectivity flexibility. This makes the PowerEdge R7625 a strong platform for high-throughput virtualisation, storage networking, private cloud and enterprise application environments.
