Available from EuroPC as a configure-your-own barebone server, the R760xd2 combines exceptional storage density with enterprise-class processing, memory and expansion capabilities, making it ideally suited to virtualisation, software-defined storage, backup and archive, analytics, large datasets and business-critical applications.
Powered by a choice of 4th or 5th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, the Dell PowerEdge R760xd2 supports up to two Intel Xeon CPUs for excellent multi-threaded performance across demanding enterprise workloads. Support for DDR5 ECC Registered memory provides the bandwidth, reliability and scalability required for modern data centre environments, while the dual-socket architecture gives businesses the flexibility to configure the server around their required performance and workload demands.
At the heart of this configuration is a high-density 24 × 3.5-inch Hot-Plug SAS/SATA drive bay chassis, providing extensive capacity for enterprise hard drives and SSD storage. The R760xd2 is particularly well suited to environments where large storage capacity and compute performance are required within a compact 2U footprint, making it an excellent platform for file storage, backup repositories, archiving, media libraries and software-defined storage deployments.
The PowerEdge R760xd2 platform also supports a range of additional storage technologies and configurations, including optional rear SAS/SATA or NVMe drive bays and the Dell BOSS-N1 boot solution. Combined with support for enterprise Dell PERC RAID controllers, this allows the server to be configured with dedicated operating system, cache and data-storage solutions to suit a wide variety of infrastructure requirements.
With 16 DDR5 DIMM slots, PCIe expansion and a wide range of networking options, the Dell PowerEdge R760xd2 provides the flexibility required for growing IT environments. Multiple expansion configurations allow businesses to add high-speed network adapters, storage controllers and other enterprise PCIe devices, while OCP 3.0 networking provides further flexibility for modern data centre connectivity.
