Designed for demanding enterprise and data centre environments, the Dell PowerEdge R760 Rack Server is a highly configurable 16th Generation 2U dual-socket server combining Intel Xeon processing, DDR5 memory, enterprise storage and PCIe Gen5 expansion. Available from EuroPC as a configure-your-own barebone server, this R760 chassis features 16 × 2.5-inch Hot-Swap SAS/SATA drive bays, making it an excellent platform for virtualisation, databases, private cloud, application hosting, business-critical infrastructure and enterprise storage workloads.
The Dell PowerEdge R760 supports up to two 4th or 5th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, providing substantial multi-core and multi-threaded performance for modern enterprise applications. Its dual-socket architecture allows the system to be configured for workloads ranging from general-purpose infrastructure and application hosting through to high-density virtualisation, databases, analytics and compute-intensive business systems.
This chassis provides 16 × 2.5-inch Hot-Swap SAS/SATA drive bays, offering a flexible storage platform for compatible enterprise HDD and SSD configurations. The 2.5-inch storage format is particularly well suited to virtual machines, databases, application servers, transactional workloads and enterprise storage where performance, capacity and serviceability are important.
Compatible Dell PERC RAID and HBA solutions can be selected to configure the server around different performance, capacity and redundancy requirements. This allows storage protection, controller functionality and RAID configuration to be tailored to the requirements of the deployment rather than being fixed to a predetermined specification.
The PowerEdge R760 platform also supports an optional Dell BOSS-N1 boot solution, allowing compatible M.2 boot storage to be separated from the primary SAS/SATA drive array. This can help preserve the main 2.5-inch bays for application and business data. BOSS-N1, M.2 SSDs, RAID controllers and other configurable components are not included unless specifically selected as part of the server configuration.
With 32 DDR5 RDIMM slots and support for up to 8TB of DDR5 ECC Registered memory, dependent on processor and memory configuration, the Dell PowerEdge R760 offers exceptional memory scalability for demanding enterprise workloads. DDR5 ECC memory makes the platform particularly well suited to large virtual machine environments, databases, analytics, private cloud and memory-intensive business applications.
Extensive PCIe Gen5 expansion provides high-bandwidth connectivity for compatible storage controllers, network adapters, accelerators and other enterprise hardware. Support for both Full Height / Full Length and Low Profile PCIe expansion gives organisations considerable flexibility when tailoring the R760 for specialised infrastructure requirements.
Flexible networking can be configured through the server's OCP 3.0 slot and compatible PCIe network adapters, allowing the PowerEdge R760 to support high-speed virtualisation traffic, storage networking, private cloud connectivity and other data-intensive enterprise applications.
Advanced remote server administration is provided through Dell iDRAC9 and OpenManage, enabling remote monitoring, deployment, diagnostics, firmware management and lifecycle administration. These integrated management technologies help IT teams simplify day-to-day operations while reducing the need for physical access to systems installed within the data centre.
