Dell PowerEdge R470 Rack Server – Configure Your Own 17th Generation Enterprise Server. The Dell PowerEdge R470 is a compact and highly configurable 17th Generation 1U single-socket server designed for modern enterprise, data centre and cloud environments. Available from EuroPC as a Configure Your Own barebone server, this R470 chassis features 8 × 2.5-inch Hot-Swap NVMe drive bays, delivering high-speed storage in a space-efficient rack platform.
The platform is well suited to virtualisation, application hosting, databases, private cloud, business infrastructure and high-performance enterprise workloads, with flexible processor, memory, networking and expansion options available to suit different deployment requirements.
The PowerEdge R470 supports one Intel Xeon 6 processor, with support for compatible P-core and E-core CPU families, allowing the system to be configured for either high per-core performance or high-density, efficiency-focused workloads.
This configuration provides 8 × 2.5-inch Hot-Swap NVMe drive bays using direct-attached U.2 NVMe connectivity, providing high bandwidth and low-latency storage for demanding enterprise applications. The NVMe chassis is particularly well suited to virtual machines, databases, transactional workloads, application servers and other data-intensive environments.
The PowerEdge R470 platform also supports an optional Dell BOSS-N1 boot solution, allowing compatible M.2 boot storage to be kept separate from the main front NVMe drive array. BOSS-N1 and associated M.2 boot drives are not included unless specifically selected.
With 16 DDR5 RDIMM slots and memory speeds of up to 6400 MT/s, the R470 provides substantial memory bandwidth for modern enterprise workloads. Maximum supported capacity depends on processor type, with configurations supporting up to 4TB with compatible P-core processors or up to 1TB with compatible E-core processors.
Support for PCIe Gen5 expansion, Full Height PCIe cards and OCP 3.0 networking provides high-bandwidth connectivity for compatible network adapters, storage hardware and other enterprise expansion devices. Processor, memory, storage, networking and power options can be selected to create a configuration matched to the required workload.
Advanced server management is provided through Dell iDRAC10 and OpenManage, enabling remote monitoring, deployment, diagnostics, firmware management and lifecycle administration. The R470 also supports redundant Hot-Plug power supplies and enterprise-class cooling for reliable continuous operation.
