The Dell PowerEdge R260 Rack Server is a compact and highly configurable 1U single-socket server designed for small and medium-sized businesses, remote offices, edge environments and everyday enterprise workloads. Available from EuroPC as a configure-your-own barebone server, this R260 configuration features 2 × 3.5-inch cabled SATA drive bays together with a dedicated Dell BOSS-N1 boot solution, delivering dependable performance and flexible storage within a space-efficient 1U form factor.
The Dell PowerEdge R260 supports Intel Xeon 6300 Series and Intel Xeon E-2400 Series processors, providing efficient single-socket performance for a wide range of business applications. The platform is well suited to file and print services, web hosting, business applications, point-of-sale systems, collaboration platforms, infrastructure services and lightweight virtualisation.
This particular EuroPC configuration features 2 × 3.5-inch cabled SATA drive bays connected directly to the server's SATA interface. Unlike Hot-Plug backplane configurations, these drives are internally cabled and provide a straightforward, cost-effective storage solution for businesses that do not require Hot-Plug drive replacement. The chassis is ideal for SATA HDD or SSD configurations where simplicity, capacity and value are key requirements.
The server also features the Dell BOSS-N1 (Boot Optimised Storage Solution), allowing dedicated M.2 NVMe storage to be used for the operating system. Separating boot storage from the main 3.5-inch SATA drives allows the primary storage capacity to remain available for applications and business data while providing a dedicated platform for operating system deployment.
With 4 DDR5 ECC DIMM slots supporting up to 128GB of memory, the PowerEdge R260 provides the bandwidth, reliability and capacity required for everyday business workloads. ECC memory helps protect against memory errors and supports dependable operation for applications where system stability and data integrity are important.
Support for PCIe Gen5 expansion gives the R260 additional flexibility for compatible networking, storage and expansion hardware. This allows businesses to tailor the server to their connectivity and infrastructure requirements while retaining the compact footprint of a 1U rack platform.
Advanced server management is provided through Dell iDRAC9 and OpenManage, giving IT teams comprehensive tools for remote monitoring, configuration, diagnostics and lifecycle management.
