The Dell PowerEdge R240 Rack Server is a compact and reliable 14th Generation 1U single-socket server designed for small business, branch office, hosting and general-purpose enterprise workloads. This professionally refurbished EuroPC configuration features an Intel Xeon E-2234 4-Core / 8-Thread processor, 16GB DDR4 ECC memory, 2 × 3.5-inch cabled SAS/SATA drive bays and a Dell PERC H330 RAID controller, providing a practical and cost-effective platform for everyday business infrastructure.
Powered by the Intel Xeon E-2234 processor, the PowerEdge R240 delivers four physical cores and eight processing threads with a base clock speed of 3.60GHz and Turbo frequencies of up to 4.80GHz. This combination of strong single-thread and multi-thread performance makes the server well suited to business applications, file and print services, web hosting, infrastructure services, backup and light virtualisation workloads.
This R240 is equipped with 16GB DDR4 ECC UDIMM memory, helping protect against memory-related data corruption while providing dependable performance for business-critical applications. The PowerEdge R240 supports memory expansion through its DDR4 ECC UDIMM architecture, allowing the platform to be upgraded as workload and capacity requirements grow.
Storage is provided through 2 × 3.5-inch cabled drive bays supporting compatible enterprise SAS and SATA HDD or SSD storage. Drives are not included, allowing suitable storage to be selected according to capacity, performance and budget requirements. Unlike Hot-Plug configurations, this chassis uses cabled Cold-Swap drives, providing a straightforward and economical storage solution for businesses that do not require front-access Hot-Plug drive replacement.
A Dell PERC H330 RAID Controller is installed to manage compatible SAS and SATA storage, providing hardware RAID capability for improved storage management and data protection. The controller allows the server to be configured with appropriate RAID levels according to performance, resilience and storage-capacity requirements.
Remote server administration is provided through Dell iDRAC9 Express, giving IT administrators access to hardware monitoring, system status and remote management functionality. This helps simplify day-to-day server administration and enables faster diagnosis of hardware and system issues without requiring direct physical access to the server.
The PowerEdge R240 also provides useful enterprise connectivity and expansion, including PCIe Gen3 expansion, integrated Gigabit Ethernet networking, USB connectivity, dedicated iDRAC access, VGA and serial connectivity. Integrated Matrox G200eW3 graphics with 16MB video memory provides reliable server-console display output for local administration.
Power is supplied by a 450W Platinum cabled power supply in a single non-redundant configuration, offering efficient operation for this compact 1U platform.
