Again in December 2008, Europc have donated a laptop to the annual Cash for Kids auction to help raise money for children with financial, emotional and physical challenges. We hope that the money raised makes a difference to the lives of children and intend to help this worthy cause in 2009.
Cash for Kids was established to help raise money for children facing financial, emotional and physical challenges and to ensure that these children get the Christmas they deserve something most of us take for granted. For over 26 years, hundreds of thousands of children have been supported by the Cash for Kids Trust though grants to individual children and their families and to schools, nurseries and community based groups that serve children with special challenges. Although Christmas is the focus of many of the activities, throughout the year the Trust gives financial support to organisations working to improve health, welfare and educational opportunities of children.
All money raised finds its way to these children through three different routes. Firstly, the charity award money to local Social Work departments who ensure that those most in need in the area benefit. The second route is through applications from individual families. People in authority (doctors, policemen, headteachers and members of the clergy) can support a familys application for a Cash for Kids grant. Lastly, grants are given to a wide variety of childrens groups. Once again, applications for these grants must be supported by someone in authority who knows the group, as well as its aims and objectives.
